Shipping point is an independent organizational entity and is required to ship the products to a customer in SAP. The shipping point is the top-level unit in the organization for shipping. Shipping point processes and monitors the deliveries as well as goods issue is carried out. One delivery is processed by one shipping point only.
Shipping Point can be assigned with as many Loading Points possible and all the loading points are specific to that shipping point. The relation is one to many and all the loading points are unique to that shipping point. A shipping point needs to be assigned to a plant.
A plant can have several shipping points based on the dispatch activities required for shipping. A delivery is always initiated from exactly one shipping point and all items of a delivery belong to the delivery-initiated shipping point. The shipping point can be proposed automatically during order processing depending on the plant, loading group and shipping condition.
Define Shipping Point: –
Below process is to create shipping point TCSP (TC Shipping Point).
Step-1: Enter the transaction code OVXD in the SAP command field and click Enter to continue.

Enter the transaction code SPRO in the SAP command field and click Enter to continue.
Click on SAP Reference IMG.
Expand SAP Customizing Implementation Guide → Enterprise Structure → Definition → Logistics Execution → Define copy, delete, check shipping point .
Click on Execute.
New dialog box opens. Double click on Define Shipping Point
Step-2: Click on New Entries to proceed further.
Step-3: Enter the below details and click on Enter.
- Shipping Point – Enter Unique four-digit(alphanumeric) shipping point code.
- Description – Specify the shipping point name or description.
- Times – Specify the factory calendar and working times.
- Determine Times – Specify the determine load time, determine pick/pack time and rounding work days.
- From Text names – Specify the from text which includes header, footer, greetings etc.
- Print Picking list – Specify the output type, message language, number of messages etc.
Step-4: Once all the details entered, click on Save button to save the details.
Step-5: It prompt for the Address. Enter the address details and Click on right mark to proceed.
Step-6: It prompt for the Change Request. Create/Select the change request and Click on right mark to proceed.
Step-7: Status bar displays the below message once the shipping point created successfully.
